There is nothing wrong with a 51 plate classic. They were just a little late leaving the showroom thats all.

My 2nd Scooby was (officially) the very last one taken from Subaru central stock (ie IM's compound) in January 2001 & was Y registered. There were however a number of unregistered ones still left at dealers at this time (Likely to be less popular Mica Red or White or 5 doors), & a few stayed unsold 'til 51 plates in March.
It's also possible that some were deliberately held back by dealers to sell at inflated prices as the blob was unloved at the time. (I remember our local Renault dealer buying six 5 GT Turbo's to keep & register late & at a premium because many owners had tried the new Clio & didn't like it!).

The least popular (But my very favourite) colour.
Of the last 5 in IM stock iirc 4 were red & 1 white!
Wonder what an 05 or 06 STi would've looked like in red mica!

I didn't take much of a look at it but i'm guessing it was a P1. Its at GMD in Carrville, Durham if anyone is interested.
