WRX PPP OPTIMAX OR BP
just go mine and run it with BP which do you prefer?
watched 5th gear and they tested 3 cars all on normal, BP and Optimax and the optimax came out on top all the time
just sold my jap import to get my uk my05 and the shell garage is 15 miles away compared to the bp which is near my work
cant be arsed to go back to the old way but is yours better on BP?
cheers in advance

Both garages are equal distance from my home, but I have only ever filled up with optimax,
also helps that it is quite a bit cheaper than the BP Ultimate too

I have been using either Optimax or Tesco 99 for the last few months and it has been great. Over the last few days i have had to put BP Ultimate in, and it makes a noticable different.....drives like a piece of ****.
Was back at Tesco last night filling it up, will try to never use BP Ultimate again.

Optimax every time. Less MPG with Ultimate in my WRX PPP and does not pull cleanly with BPU.
Recently I ran low on fuel and had to topup, until the next Shell station. Instead of using Ultimate, at 102p/L, I put £20's worth of BP unleaded in and it ran okay....

My My03 WRX PPP doesn't like Ultimate at all. It can feel sluggish off boost and definately doesn't accelerate as well. Second those that have better fuel economy on Optimax as well. I have a BP garage less than a mile from me, on the way to work, but will always go for a Shell garage instead. Will try some of the Tesco 99 soon.
P.S. BP really hiked the price of their fuel during the recent shortage scare and were very slow to bring the price back down. The Shell garage in Northampton were nearly 10p / litre cheaper for a couple of weeks and are still cheaper than my local BP now (Optimax was 92.9 last time I filled up there).

My 05 WRX has a sticker on the inside of the fuel filler flap saying something along the lines of 98 RON minimum only, and that was there pre-PPP.

EVO mag has a bit of an eye opener of a test this month.
Supermarket 95 RON v Super unleaded 97 RON v Optimax 98 RON v BP Ultima v Tesco 99 RON
The results may suprise you

esso 97 is my preferred choice, followed by optimax and then bp since my car has been power fc and mapped. Before that though funnily enough, bp ultimate used to make the car feel a lot smoother and more responsive.
Fwiw I had the car mapped on the esso 97 so that is probably why it is my prefered choice now
