Default no prodrive air filter why ?

?... the prodrive p. pack as fitted by prodrive does not include an uprated air filter .. is there any reason for this and would fitting say a k.& n. make any difference.. or is the standard filter rated above 265 bhp.. 03 wrx...

That's cos the std filter is very good. It Filters well and does not cause a noticable restriction @ your power levels.
Better off spending you money on petrol.

if you need a upgrade filter get an ITG flat panel direct replacement, they are brilliant.

Mike Wood has posted about this before, I believe they tested panel filters but found that they gave little or no increase in performance for the PPP so didnt fit them.
