Tell him to stop f*cking about; he knows very well what he wants for it. Get him to tell you and take it from there. If he thinks that someone will offer more than he might have asked in the current climate, then he is kidding himself.

I have seen them go for different amounts on here. as simon says, he is hoping to get more than he wants, he will know how much he wants for it.
just tell him you have seen a few, and your not into guessing games so you will go elsewhere unless he can give you a guide price.
let us know when he tells you before diving in.

Is this a non sti ra,whats the mileage,is it mapped for uk fuel?Has it got knocklink, boost gauge, alarm? With the above info would be easier to give advise.
Hannible has a nice v6 sti ra for sale on this forum, which is allready sorted for about this figure(unless he,s sold it)
Paid about this for a my99 sti ra 555 limited not long ago,in excelent condition with low mileage. So could be about right.

That is a strong price for an RA; remember that it was the poverty-spec version of the WRX rather than a more desirable version. All of the 'advantages' had long since gone too, such as the closed deck block and the extremely low final drive. Its a different matter if it is an STI Type-RA of course, which is much dearer and probably more desirable than the STI despite being a cheaper car.

It looks liek an STI to me, but youd need to check the Applied Model Number to be sure because theres a small chance that it could be a WRX Type-R.
£10, 000 doesnt sound out of the way to me though, far from it. Roofermans point about UK fuel is even more important now though. When this was new there was no way of remapping the ECU but that is possible now. If you buy it its essential that you get it done, either by ECU-Tek or by having an aftermarket ECU fitted and mapped.

That's a type-r sti! you can tell by the way it has a roof vent and type-r written on it!
Check the model code though cos as said it could be a WRX type-r but unlikely.

Seems familiar, can't place where I've seen it before. 10k is a bit much unless its in tip top minto condition. These things just aren't selling at the moment, along with a lot of other cars. I've seen similar for 8-9k in the trader and Ebay and even at that price they haven't been snapped up.

Offer 8 large and flash him your stack. Whatever Impreza you get make sure there's a mountain of history and get it checked out by a pro.

i'm sure i seen this car advertised a few months ago - No. plate rings a bell... if i'm not mistaken is the car located around W-S-M or Taunton area....??
If it is the chap i'm thinking of he also had a black wrx sti which he uses for track days and stuff.. meant to have mega BHP on that... blue one was his daily runner..? engine manifold has no RED paint left on it and i think he said the engine was replaced a couple of years ago....
Raf.
p.s. could be wrong though...!

The seats are the Electric Prodrive Recaro's that were offered as an aftermarket option as part of the WR options for the P1. They were £1995 new.
