Bear in mind that an STI-2; although a 1996 model year car, was available from September/October 1995..... again with 275PS on Japanese premium unleaded.

Yes thats correct, the MY95 is V2.
Its a bloody quick car, but not suited for motorways as mine was always screaming at 80mph @4200rpm.
I'd go back to one anyday over any 4-door Classic shape model.

The later (Version 3 onwards) model STi's make 0-60 in under 5 approx, and are all 300PS as standard. Again this is not on 97 Ron fuel so this has to be taken into account. Type R's are quicker still.

Only version 1 (about 250-260PS - yes even on an STi) was altered by Subaru Technica International 'after' being entirely made by Subaru in Korea and then handed over to STI. I'm not sure about the RA bit you mention. These may have have come out in version 1 from standard, and then made into STi's. The first RA's had closed deck blocks from standard factory spec and are favoured even now with mod'ers of classic scoobs. Wonder what the first RA's redlined at? 7500? Compared to 8000 from version 3 onwards, and 7500? in version 2...
Fotr crying out loud! Why is everyone arguing with me? Neutral Cruiser, youre wrong. The first production STI was manufactured from September 1995 onwards and it is a Model Year '96 car. In 1994 STI retro-converted a (disputed) number of GC8 and GF8 Imprezas, commonly held to be a run of 100 and then a further run of 200 cars of each type. In 1995 this continued with an altered-production STI based on the Type-RA. This car was only available in white, it had a roof vent and it produced 275PS, as opposed to the 250PS of the original car. This is NOT an 'STI2'; the STI Version 2 was the first model to be built in series production which started in September/October 1995. This vehicle will be a'Model Year '96' car.
Does anyone else want to argue with me based on what theyve heard, rather than what they actually know? Im sure that they will, seeing as one **** on ScoobyNet once tried to tell me how I pronounce my own f*cking surname after watching my uncle race on the telly!
