Default Buying MY03/4 STI PPP, what to look out for

Hi

I am lucky enought to have the cash to but an MY03/04 STI PPP. I would be interested in hearing about your experiances with this car and any areas that need extra vigilance when buying.

What paper work can I expect to see to prove the PPP upgrade?

Any tips in this area would be greatfully recived. Thanks.

Listen out for a knocking noise from the rear suspension, very common on 03+ Sti's. No big problem because u should be able to get the Mod done under Warranty. Mine was done last week and everything else is 100%.........Like steppers says though do make sure u get the Certificate to prove the PPP has been done.

You can also have mine (MY04 STI PPP with certificate) for 17k with 21,000 miles on and just had 4 new tyres and new rear shocks fitted by dealer. Black with dark anthrociate 18" Prodrive wheels and Prodrive springs & geometry setup

PM me for more details / pics

No matter which one you'll buy, you'll be grinning from dusk till dawn

Just not the best car in the world with a 6 month old son

Look for any new panels/new paint. Make sure the history is Subaru as if its not you
have lost the warranty.

ENSURE you do a HPi check this is a must!!!!!!

If you can get one with the following fitted:- PPP,Prodrive spings, 18" upgrade alloys, As
when you come to sell they will help.
Look at a few before you buy as there are so many outthere you won't be spoilt for choice.
Its a buyers paradise now especially now the new model is out so haggle like ****

False When the block exemption ruling was removed it became possible to have cars serviced at any VAT registered establishment which has adequate skills to perform the job and uses OE parts or parts of equal or higher quality.

I personally trust Scoobyclinic to do a much better job than the minimum wage trainee at the franchised dealers.

Hi All

Thanks for the replys. It's very encoraging to none that there seem to be no major problems with this car, I have also been looking at Evo's, if fact the wife is more keen on an FQ300 & I'm more keen on the STI PPP! The Evo seem to be more of a minefield getting the right model & making sure the servicing is upto date.

For those of you with cars for sale, I'll check back once the wifes 172 is sold, it will be going on the market Saturday 19th Nov.

I'm interested to find a good dealer near Maidstone in Kent, any recomendations? whats the cost of the 7500 mile services?

Thanks.
