Default So who feeds the wheel then ...

Had to laugh at the thought of my mum wanting a shot of my Scooby.

It'll happen, but only once I get a steering wheel cover to prevent the wear from the leather gloves burning a whole as she feeds the wheel faster than the forward velocity of the car.

Anyone else got a wheel feeding mum itching for a "spin"?

What about you ... are you a feeder?

I'm most definately not a feeder.

My dad is going to be driving mine soon though and I bet he feeds the wheel!

ME..!

90% of the time holding a 9-3 grip the only time you need to take your hands off the wheel is to change gear or scratch your bollocks..!

What do you guys do 'x roads'..?

Depends how I'm driving tbh, so yeah sometimes I do feed the wheel.

At least I don't wear driving gloves though!

Now I'll be thinking about it too much in the car tomorrow...

Reckon I'm a feeder, unless I need to twirl the wheel in a hurry. One thing I definitely don't do is undergrip the wheel at all (like a palm up grip holding the wheel at the top). :tuts:

Feeding the wheel totally unnecessary with power steering. It was a Police Roadcraft-developed technique to allow maximum strength turning the wheel.

I always hold it at 1/4 to 3 position and when I need to take my hand off to get more turn I use the technique taught by Andy Walsh from CarLimits where you completely cross your arms, then the arm that is underneath comes over the other arm and grabs the wheel ready for the next half-revolution... got it?

sorry but i dont reckon you keep your hands on then 9-3 position all the time, even accounting for the classic oversteer-style cross-your-hands bit, that still only allows you one complete turn in total, what about going round tight corners?!
I stay at 9-3 whenever possible, not normally possible when low-speed maneouvring tho!
