Thats definately a Type RA, the roof vent proves that, this is a light weight model (approx 30kg lighter than the standard car) and should have a little dial near the handbrake which should have lights on the dash when you move it forwards and backwards.
Look here and check against the chassis numbers (under faq's)
www.sidc.co.uk
Possably this one? GC8C4DD (check this part of the chassis number, should be the beginning) 275ps WRX RA STi2 V-Limited

I will try to add something constructive: check the Applied Model Number, this will tell you what the car is. GC8C47D means its based on an RA (less likely); GC8C4ED means its based on an STI2 and GC8C4DD means that its based on an STI Type-RA. These designations are absolute and counter all other opinion. There s likely to be a plaque which'll help you further establish the exact model. Special editions were prolific, even more so when they won something.....
Hope that this helps

Its an STI Version 2 555 then; not an RA. The 275 relates to the rated output of 275PS, although youll be lucky to see 250BHP on Optimax and booster.

I should know better but Im going to open a can of worms. A 'rolling road' is only able to give an indication of the power at the vehicles wheels. At best this is innacurate as the vehicle is stationary and so many other factors affect the outcome; particularly the vehicles tyres. Rolling brakes that fit directly to the hubs are more accurate but the 'at the flywheel' figure is never anything more than a guess and its really only of any use as a simple comparison, or to argue about in the pub.
The only way that you can accuarately measure the engines output is to remove it and measure it on a dynometer. When this vehicle was new it was only rated at 275 PS which is a shade over 270 BHP, that was when it was new and running on fuel that we struggle to emulate.

Also thats not a 95/96 car as the bonnet is wrong style.
So NOT a V2 555 edition.
You need the option code (BK or BKC) off the VIN plate to be sure.
If the same as this it's a 555 Limited edition STI 2
