Uprate turbo...to VF28?
quick question and yes I know it is late so not expecting a rapid response
Got a MY00 UK model with standard TD04 (not quite sure what version ) and was wondering what benefits, if any, I would gain by putting in a VF28
Am I right in guessing that the VF28 came from STi5's.
So would it be a good upgrade or should I look for a TD05.
It's an ongoing project with upgrading the intercooler, fuel pump etc
cheers in advance

Depends on how much BHP your are thinking of getting, the VF28, will give you just under 340Hp, maybe 350Hp, as with alot of the earlier VF series turbos.
But if you want big BHP, the Tdo5, 16g-20G are probably the way to go, although then the car will become a brutal bit of kit!

I put a VF28 on mine (MY 98) and along with a boost controller, full decat and I/K it made 286 bhp @ surrey rolling road and 312 @ PE, this is running 1.2 bar boost on std map, std injectors etc.
A guy also on here done the same (scott) and he had his remapped and run 314 bhp @ PE on a MY00
