mudflaps??
Should i get some?
its for a 55 WRX Wagon crystal grey.
i would go for the black prodrive ones, but almost $hit myself when i saw they wanted £224 for a front & rear set!
does anyone else make a reasonably priced one? also will they make my car look-
a) better + no dirt sprayed up the sides
b) a bit gay?

Hi,
I fit the ones from eBay (plain black v2) by Performance_Creations. £60. A lot of people suggested them when i asked the same question last week or so. They are very good. Not "in your face", but somehow make the back lOOk meaner, and yes there's less crap up the side of the car.
It took me about an hour to fit (and i dont normally do/know anything about cars), but now i'm in the know, i reckon you can do it in 30 mins easily. (Just pre-drill the holes for the self tappers, much much easier).

Scoobyworld do 2 types. Some for £60 and the others for about £150. Ive got the cheaper ones and although I haven't fitted them yet, they do look quite nice in the flesh.

are there any that you don't have to get a drill involved with metal bits on the scoob?- i don't want to introduce potential rust problems in the future, as the cars new and i will probably be keeping it for many years

I believe their version1 mudflaps dont use brackets, and therefore you dont screw anything to the bodywork. I wouldn't use those, because anyone can pull them off with the crappy plastic screws, or then they could fall off.
I think most will require fixing to the bodywork... (ready to stand corrected)

Just seen these advertised on ebay - from scoobyworld. Just shy of £60.

Ps
As far as drilling holes, I think there are Two 3mm holes to be drilled into the front wheel arch, and one 3mm hole goes into each of the rear wheel arches, Powerstation next door to Lichfields are putting mine on and they assure me they'll use a blob of underseal in the holes once there drilled to stop rust.

Yep, there's two holes in the front, one in the rear. I couldn't get the 2nd hole done in the front, snapped 3 drill bits (mind you, they were probably for wood ) 1 seemed just fine.

Hi,
I would recommend the Scott Lowe mudflaps as the quality is second to none and you get everything that you need including the anti-rust compound for putting the screws into the bodywork. Granted they are not the cheapest available but you get what you pay for in my opinion.
Here are a couple of pictures of them on my crystal grey STi.

Had mudflaps on my old 22b, absolutely hated them. On any other Impreza I've had I didn't even consider them for a second, look positively awful. If I kept my old 22b I'd have ripped them off and just had a respray every 3rd year.

But hey, some people may hate them, we're all different, thank ****.
I agree with DazW, if i would've had a 22B, i'm sure i'd of had them on, it's the "true" impreza rally weapon.
