Default Wheezy Air-con

Got my first Impreza last month.

It is a 55 WRX wagon. So far, this is without doubt the best car I have ever owned

It's one quirk though is that the air con, every few minutes gives out a wheezing noise like an old asthmatic. Never had this on other cars. Does anybody elses do this?

As ive already said mine does it on an 02 sti,Although it never used to and only started in the summer after a re-gas,I assumed it now does it as it has gas in it.It was very low on gas before and there was no noise.

MY05 - does the same. And this is the SL model - surely the leather and heated seats and extra expense would mean the luxury version shouldn't do it - what have I paid for!!!!

My 99 UK classic does it too Can be quite annoying really

I think its going to have to be one of those things you just put up with. Either that, or I can sense its going to cost a fair bit to sort out...

Mine (54 plate WRX) does this also, sounds like Darth Vader is tucked behind the dash.

Well it's not just mine then. It looks like a Subaru design feature.

Darth Vader behind the dash as standard. Should really be on the options list.
