Can anyone help me identify the differences in an RA Sti over normal please...
Hi All,
I recently purchased an RA STi 3 to replace my old STi.
Does anyone know all of the differences?
So far I have noticed:
Alloy lower wishbones
No ABS
Roof Vent
DCCD
No central locking
Manual Windows
Is that everything?
Is the ECU the same as a standard STi?
Thanks in advance.
Gareth

some RAs have 2pots
fogs were optional on any STI - most don't have them.
driveshafts and diffs are stronger.
no undershield.
thinner glass is wrong, as is lightweight panels. ally bonnet's your lot, and most JDMs have one anyway.
Earlier ones have different rear brakes i think - not sure about 3s.
No climate control - just simple AC.
edit: no paint on handles or mirrors - that paint sure must be heavy.
Earlier ones had closed deck engines and 5th injector but they were dropped for v3s.

Thinner glass,
Close ratio gearbox,
Rear Plated LSD,
No air bag,
No air-con (as std),
Optional quicker steering rack (13:1 as opposed to 15:1),
Rear brake set-up is different (possibly on a ver 3),
Plus the other stuff already mentioned.

spec-c's have thinner glass, afaik classics never did.
V1's and 2's certainly don't have lightweight boots. every panel is steel bar the bonnet.
You should note that all STI standard equipment and options, were also options on the RAs, and a lot of RAs were identical to STIs except for roof vent and DCCD+diffs.
