welcome mate, depends if you like losing money because if you sell now you stand to lose an awful lot. Might be better to enjoy the car you have now rather than changing it

Or..../... you could take it back to the dealer u got it from and p/x for the sti , i think they would be alot more generous than what you think with you only having it four weeks, if you take this route ,do it now rather than later, get down to the dealer , tell them how your feeling and i reakon you might do ok.

^^ They do some kind of bring it back if you don't like it, not sure if the limit is a week.
Phone them TODAY though. that is deffo your best option if you do it fast.
although the 2.5ltrs will be out soon, and it sounds like you'll wanna change again then...

Being in a similar position to you, thinking about selling after only a month or two. I did enquire out of interest about a p/x for a new STI and was offered £14800.
Althought there are little perks to the WRX300 like cheaper insurance in general due to not having to declare PPP to your insurers and having a slightly nicer interior than standard, there is no discernable increase in value over the standard WRX and the model is not yet recognised by Glass.
Assuming the minimum you'll have paid is £19000, you'll lose at least £4k on the '300, then the best part of £6/7k on an STI. (I think someone has just sold a 54 plate STI for £17500), thus a new one is really not a sensible option in your position.
Of course if you're loaded it doesnt make any difference, but if that were the case I assume you'd have bought an STI in the first place. Personally I can't see the point in changing up, the STI PPP is undoubtedly a superior and more focused car, but personally I couldnt live with one day to day.

Stick with the WRX. You will have taken a huge hit on the residuals selling so quickly. Even if you had the STi there is always something better to aspire to.
I find it hard to believe that any dealer will give you a good trade in on a redundant spec of car.
Sorry.

How many people post simular to this & ask the question after they have purchased a car Why did you not look in to the STI before handing over your hard earned for the WRX300 if you now are unsure?
If you have more money than sense change it, if not enjoy the car as I am sure that you will as it is no doubt a cracking car.

I have just bought a spanking WRX 300 with PPP ans had the genuine prodrive stI spolier.
Looks fantastic. Have never driven the STi, but the 300 is a wonderful car and I love it to bits.
Getting the rear windows tinted next week.
My wife loves it nearly more than me!!!!

More money than sense..!
Your 300 won't be at it's best until it's at least got 5000miles under it, but if your're thinking you've bought wrong car already then you probably won't ever be happy..!

Don't mod anything mechanical on it though. obviously it comes as standard with PPP, but if you've only had it a month have you had the 1000 mile service yet?
after that 7000 revs are yours, and i keep hearing the speed really picks up after 5-10000 miles
266bhp is not enough? really?
you have a great car - enjoy it!

Take it to WRC Tech at Silverstone, Part with £1,500 of your hard earned and instruct them to give you another 50bhp and 50 lb/ft of torque.
It's as easy as that then all your problems are solved and you won't get shafted by Subaru trying to trade it in.
Case for the Defence Rests!
