Cool WHATS YOUR FAVORITE THING BOUT YOUR IMPREZA

What is the thing you love the most about your Impreza

Mine's if you end up in the wrong lane at traffic lights or roundabout then you can just POWER it off the line past most things and get in the lane you need.

The levels of grip at speed and the 0-100 capabilities.

It is funny when you floor it and your passengers sit up and grab their seats. I quite like it when you get Business men in their company mercedes and bmw's thinking that they can blow you away and then fail to do so

The fact that it begs me to drive it,I have two cars i kept the nissan when i bought the scoob so that i could use it for shopping runs that kind of stuff and to keep the mileage down on the scoob.I bought it 18 months ago with 30,000 on the clock it now has 50,000,My Nissan had 68,000 18 months a ago and now has 70,000 i lent it to my dad in the summer and he done a 1000 of those.I just cant stop driving the scoob even to the local shops it brings such a smile to my face its unreal.

Best thing is definately the level of grip and 0-40 pick up.

Corners are done at speeds where i fall out of the M5 seat if i even try an i would'nt.

Worst thing, is the lack of refinement, wind noise, ride and the 80-160 lack of pace.

But for the country roads its just brill.

Smile

Not got a scoob at the moment.

However when i did it always put a smile on my face when i drove it - only car i have had to do that!

The only other cars to do this where an Enzo and a 430 Ferrari along with a BMW touring car from the late 80's and a Porker Carrera GT v10 and a Vantage - sadly non of which i own!

Can I bear to post on this thread??? Oh go on then

Its anonymity...oh, scrub that...no longer the case I'm afraid
The cost...dang it, forgot about the deprecitation, parts cost and maintanence schedule
Practicality...great, another excuse for me to be the taxi driver on a Friday night.

Ok, then moving on...

The simplicity, it is an absolute doddle to work on, nothing is complex on it. (even the spark plugs when you have the knack...and a cool engine )

The off-the mark traction.

The ability to go over speed bumps at 35mph in more comfort than at 10mph.

The illogically placed buttons (fogs light switches where you can's see them, sidelight override on top of column. Headlight aim stuffed somewhere else.

The fact the "Bright" switch isn't Illuminated, so you can't find in the dark

It does still turn heads (although its the heads of the wrong people these days )

Brakes and an ABS system that reminds you that laws of physics do indeed exist.

The wonderful 70's colour of the space saver tyre

Ok, you can guess I'm scraping the barrel here, so I'll mock no further

same can be said for BM's, Audis and the odd evo, there are several EVOs run locally which are driven by what look like 20 somethings in sportswear and baseball caps -- probably sell da weed and charly!

I didn't start it
any way, every one here has got a scoob, every one here is in different states of modification power weight etc. everyone here has different attitudes but every one here should know their capabilities of their car!

Did i say you started it?

Anyway, not everbody on SN has a scoob plenty of other petrolheads and non-petrolheads frequent this site for all sorts of reasons - for proof have a look in Other Marques and Muppets for instance.

All i want is for this thread to keep on track and not get hi-jacked into something else.
As for the capabilites of the car do not forget the capabilities of the driver as well.

I 'did' a flatfront 911 off the lights three times in succession in London several years ago - whilst my MY99 scoob as quick i doubt it was just down to the car

No i did not postr that i murdered a 911 and it was ****e in comparison just afterwards - well at least i do not think i did.

BTW i love the flatfront 911 - looks a mean car even now.

The face on my mate when I took him for a blast around some single-track country lanes in the Isle of Man at 3am. He didn't think it was possible to corner so hard so easily, not forgetting the acceleration and braking effects he experienced for the first time.

the noise, loving 2nd gear full chat down a road with high sided buildeings
the grip, that planted to the road feeling
the sheer pace on the twisties is hard beaten, even by supercars
the lovely seats that hold you all snugg,
the brembos that i know wont let me down "i hope"

Oh did i mention that noise?

In this order ( along with anybody)

the looks (classic !!!! ) , coulpled with the rally reputation.
once in the 0-60 sprint
the grip
the rumble

and its only after a while you learn its not really a great handling car , cos the 4wd saves you

Thumbs up

The noise (including the whistle of the turbo),
The manic grip out of corners,
Overtaking in 3rd gear,
The subtle look (well, ok, a std-looking 93 WRX does look subtle next to anything post-face lift or with a big spoiler)
Driving it through Alpine tunnels with the windows down
