Default Erratic idling on 04 STI

i've got an 04 JDM STI - i changed the standard air filter for the uprated STI last night. On the 2.5 mile jorney to work i noticed that the car was starting to idling strangely, almost as if it was going to stall while at a stand still

Has anyone got an idea as to why this would happen. Altough the new filter is a Subaru OE part it seems a strange coincidence that this has happened on it's first journey. Could it be the car adjusting to the new filter or a more serious problem??

I fitted an STi panel filter to my MY03 WRX STi no probs. Check you haven't disturbed the connection to the MAF on the airbox or any other connections where you have been working on the car.

HTH,

Damian.

just incase this is useful for someone in the future i took the filter out earlier and then replaced it, making sure everything was as it should be. I have a sneaky feeling that i didn't seal/close the air-box properly before (it was getting dark!) and since everything is back to normal

I had similar problems when my dv was'nt sealing properly, turned out to be a broken spring (forge)
