Just seen a copy of the quote for sorting my car out. It was quite a hard bang up the rear, but 4 grand, rediculous I think. Still his insurance is paying!
Maybe this is why our insurance costs so much, the repairers taking the pi55. Over £700 for the spoiler alone!

It's probably not the repairers taking the ****, because the insurance will have to 'ok' the quote before they agree to pay for the repairs. If the quote is inflated, the insurance will send an independant engineer to check out the car. Trust me, they won't pay more than is absolutely necessary.
I just had a new front end (lights, bonnet, bumper, rads) after a low speed impact and the final bill came to £3000 (£2k parts, 1k labour).
£700 for the spoiler? I thought the quote of £200 for the spoiler brakelight was extortionate!

I wouldnt class that as a dent either looks like there could be quite a bit of damage as mentioned above.

What's the breakdown of the quote like?
My Mum had a quote for the repair of her Ford Ka. The car was valued at £1500, but the Independant Insurance Specialist said it would easily get twice that so OK'd the £1800 repair bill
She took it around the Dealers and they all laughed at that price. She got £900 trade-in and the Dealer said she be lucky to see a few '00 extra selling privately.
