Newbie Needs Buying Advice
Hi,
Looking at some WRX's and STI here in Ireland as soon as I can get rid of my Laguna.
Current lists are like this:
http://www.carzone.ie/usedcars/index.cfm?fuseaction=search&MakeID=29&xMakeID=29&C olourID=&xColourID=&ModelID=250&xModelID=250&Doors =&BodyID=&Engine_Min=2000&Year_Min=&Engine_Max=&Ye ar_Max=&Price_Min=&Price_Min_integer=Minimum+price +entered+was+not+an+integer.&CountyID=&xCountyID=& Price_Max=&Price_Max_integer=Maximum+price+entered +was+not+an+integer.&BusinessID=&xBusinessID=&IsPr ivateSale=&FuelID=&SortBy=priceDesc&MaxRows=100&In sertPeriod=&ResultFormat=&submit=Find+%3E%3E
My limit is around €20 000 give or take. I really like the wagon shape for various reasons. Looking at something that will be reasonbly reliable (id rather go for a slightly slower bug eye than a STI if needed) and something that will suit local and longer travelling.
THere are some 95-2000 versiosn that meet the price range - what to avoid - what to look at?
Thanks !!!

Hi Chaz
Have a look at this to give you some idea of make and model differences, etc. It is well written and researched.

I am sure someone will add to this thread with good advice.
All the best

Thanks - I did have a quick read of that.
Just curious if there are certain versions that are best avoided due to fuel issues (we used to have this in South Africa) - or some that are more sought after.
I am looking for something that is fairly refined, without it loosing its 'scooby' appeal. I test drove a few bugeyes in SA before I came to ireland and was fairly happy with the car (turbo lag wasnt too great). Recently looked at a few beemers - still looking around.
It doesnt have to be a quarter mile demon, seems like the RA is already out due to the low gearing. Some of the STI versions look good - some info seems to suggest issues with version 4 / 5? Things like that ...
Thansk once again.
