In my quest to decide which Scooby to get I came across this (pinched from the nasioc forums!)

Interesting reading, the recommended minimum octaine (US figures) is 91 RON, and the WRX is producing 230bhp and 235ib-ft of torque. So even on 95RON with the same state of tune this should produce 240bhp.
Same with the STi 300bhp as standard with 97ron it must be upto 320bhp.
Or am I talking through my ar$e.

US Fuel ratings are different from UK, their 91/93 Ron fuel is similar to our super unleaded.
Roughly:
US Regular, 87 = UK 91
US Premium, 90 = UK Unleaded 95
US Super Plus, 93 = UK Super Unleaded 98
Expect the 300bhp 2.5 STI to be around 275bhp when it gets here. Not entirely sure why, maybe stricter emissions.
I guess the advent of the 2.5 will make 2.0 jap imports less desirable. I wish Subaru UK would make an formal announcement, I have money burning a hole in my pocket and still no-one seems to know when the 06 STi will appear exactly.
