Default Need a lil help!

Hi ya peeps, I currently own a 97 Escort Si but Im looking to upgrade to something a lil nicer, Baring in mind im only 18 I currently pay £650 fully comp on my Escort (group 10) so fingers crossed i should be able to get insured on a 2.0 Sport scooby.

Now... I've been offered 3600 for my escort in its current state and so Im looking to spend about 4k on a new car, i was thinking maybe a 1999 four door 2.0 sport AWD with about 60k on the clocks. First question, do you think thats a realistic price for me to pay or am I dreaming?

Secondly, what do I have to look out for when buying? are there any problems with rust on the bodywork or common mechanical problems etc?

Im looking to do simple mods to the car engine wise, basically chip, exhaust, induction and decat, what would this see on this model of car realistically? just shy of 140bhp with similar torque or is that aiming a bit too high?

My final question (and sorry for being a pain in the ****) but what can I port over from other imprezas, exteriorwise i mean... and from what models? Ie bonnets, bumpers etc. thanks for all the help guys and hopefully ill be on here permanently!

According to Parkers you are looking at a 52 plate bug GX for that money

To my Knowlege GX is the newage sport equivalent it is 2.0l NA and produces somewhere around the 130-140BHP mark

Nice car m8, 4WD and you do get a better interior with the newage cars

Not sure if the GX came in the fastest colour WR blue though

So... just to remove any confusion, im looking to spend 4k total on around a 1999 2.0 Sport with around 60k on the clocks, is this the best choice? also what are the parts I can port over, bonnets etc, is it anything?

I have another question... sorry to be a pain, but I'd probably be one of the youngest owners on the forum, just like with the escort... Can anyone recommend any insurance companies that'll insure me for a half decent price? even in a parents name on a 2.0 sport which i know are a group 13, my current car is a group 10 but im only 18.... its not like the car is much faster need help!!!!
