MY05 WRX300 2nd hand value?
MY05 WRX300, PPP
1st Reg June 05, 3500 miles
Any ideas what it'd be sensible to pitch it at in the autotrader?
I've seen 05 plates are going for around £18000 without PPP, which I think is a touch high. What do you reckon the PPP adds in terms of value, given that insurers on the whole now recognise the PPP on a WRX300 without having to declare it as a mod = significantly cheaper insurance for younger drivers.

The WRX300 is just like the WR1 before it in that although both have PPP, insurers are already aware of this, thus in many cases costing less to insure than the equivalent model (WRX+PPP or STI+PPP)
For younger drivers wanting a WRX with PPP, some have already commented that a WRX300 is the only affordable way to do it.

Sorry to hear it's going so soon. I got my WRX300 for £19,000 pre-reg with only 30 miles on the clock. I saw another post saying somebody else had seen the same price, pre-reg for sale elsewhere. Miserable that it might be, it's hard to see anyone 'in the know' paying anymore than £17,000. Nice to buy, horrible to sell - why do we do it?

Fortunately I've been told that all local allocations (3 per dealer) have sold out so I may get lucky because of my location.
I can see someone not in the know could see all the local 54/05 plate WRXs advertised at the dealers for £19k without PPP and plump for mine at around £18k. (And I'm a good salesperson if one should stumble down my road!!!)
I've already been offered £17.5k from someone at work so I might just stick it in the trader to test the water to see what I could get over and above.

Id take 17500 from a mate. at least you know its a safe bet. At a dealer you shouldnt be paying more than 18995 for a pre reg

It depends on what your definition of selling is:
ie there are loads of people selling Car XYZ at £20k in autotrader but no one has actually called them or bought the car
OR there are people "selling" there car at a realistic price and getting lots of calls and giving the keys to a new owner within a couple of weeks.
As a rule of thumb when selling a car I would subtract 10%-15% from what you think its worth, this normally gives you a REAL selling price, just about everyone I know always overvalues there car and then gets in a huff when you tell them its to highly priced!
I would rip the guys hand off who offered you 17.5k

I'm going to whack it in at £18500 and see what offers get made - To be honest, there is such a vast array of prices on imprezas out there I think it is something of a postcode lottery, depending on what the supply/demand is in your area.
IMHO dealers are taking the **** asking for £19k second hand 54/05 without PPP, so if this is the case in my area, I dont see why I shouldnt hold out - in any case its going to be 10 weeks till my company car is delivered so its hardly a case of having to accept the first offer.

This is a bit worrying, wonder what trading standards would say about the top advert?
I know the advert says WRX300, but a WRX300 doesnt have a black cloth interior, it doesnt have a split rear seat. It also has PPP which the other does not mention.
And the second advert bears out that £18k is not an unreasonable price. WOuld you buy a demo with 2k on the clock which will no doubt have been ragged, or mine looked after and run in properly with 3500 for £500/£1k less.
