Just wandering really. We all know how good the type 25 is. Most have seen Litcho blistering his way around a track or read articles in EVO mag. In the hands of Litcho it looks a monster I must admit.
My question is how many of these cars are used in that way in reality. I for one havent seen a type 25 on track, other than Litcho's of course. Do they get used the way nature intended or do they get polished instead?
Oh and the first mention of Santa Pod and I will be round to take your keys away, you dont deserve the car.

Hose pipe ban down here, so mine's not been polished for a while

I don't do track days so mine is just used on the road, but it does get used I assure you

5,000 mile service last week and I only bought it in March. I think Iain is just very busy at the moment - all those 06 cars coning in soon!

according to evo the 06 car tuned by ian is capable of 400lbs torque!?!

Correct me if I'm wrong but Impreza's are not ideal track cars though are they? If you were after a track day weapon you would buy a radical, westfield, etc etc.
Impreza's (particularly the T25) are designed for fast point to point driving across twisty B roads.

Yours is the only car i've seen being used in anger, which seems a real shame.

Its about time you got yourself over the 'ring' one of the weekends i'm there. Its about time I went through AF completly sideways rather than understeering like a pig .....Mind you if you cant make it you could always lend me one to try for a sneaky weekend. PMSL

Danny I would have to disagree with you.

The ESC hold a trackday at Brands Hatch every year and the scoobs eat up westfields, tvr's, elise's, and many other 'trackday' cars on the bends and the straight, the scooby is very much a track day car.

As for not seeing any type 25's on the track, if they arent stickered up with the stickers on the side you hardly tell the differnce between a 25 and the standard model.

We could take it there and do a report for his website to say how much faster we could go in a T25 that our normal track "rides". I reckon he would sell a few more cars just on the strength of our comments

As said the Subaru isnt best suited for the track. Its too heavy for one thing.

However alot of people own them as everyday cars but also use them as weekend track day tools. Thats not something you can do with a radical / westy.

Oh and when you see one running you know the difference between a type 25 and a std model I can assure you that.

hmmmmmmmmmm Type 25 laps the ring 20 secs quicker than STi. It has a nice ring to that. You provide the type 25, I will provide the STi. Dave can supply the bitburger for the evening

Taken mine on the track once and intend to do it again was miles better than the Uk STI I drove on the same track, the instuctor at Prodrive loved it In fact I love mine so much i'm going to buy another one

I do get it serviced more often than specified as a precation

I've had an invite to take my '06 Spec C to the Ring at the end of the month which I'm tempted by but I also need it in one piece for the Tuner GP in September which is probably more sensible.

We did think about getting a proper driver to set a time around the ring in the Type 25 but then I watched the Spec C's sub 8min lap and thought better of it I don't think it would be much faster anyway......unless it was a Spec C version

I have to admit that sub 8mins is impressive. Its a standing joke over there that no-one has seen a QUICK scoob doing a lap. QUICK by their standards means sub 8.15 btg. I would like to think that I have the potential to get close to that but sub 8 mins no way. Can't remember if the sub 8 mins was BTG or a full lap, which would make it all the more impressive?

Shaun have you met Tony Burns You'd probably get on

Standard Spec C with STI's uprated suspension and a VERY quick driver behind the wheel. I think the time is for a full lap.

Gary, Powerstation is having an open day around that time but I think it was the Monday I was invited over for. We'll see how I cope with these MY06 cars these next couple of weeks before I make to many plans.
