I used to have a Dark Blue Mica and it did have violet tint when the sun shone on it.The existing paint shouldnt fade because its protected by laquer, buffing the finish to an allover equal shine should help diguise it

Pearl and metallic paints differ in shading depending on how they are sprayed (distance, velocity, thickness of layers etc) and also if the the paint isn't mixed properly before and during application - which causes an uneven dispersion in the metallic and pearl pigments. Because of this it possible to get a completely different shade - even when using paint out of the same tin!

try putting the paint tin in hot water to thin it out, it will spray a lot better.
