I'd just like to thank the guys at ScoobySport.
I had loads of kit fitted today and dispite the fuel problems, traffics jams and a really shagged lightened fly wheel, they got all the work done in a day all be it a very long day.
Bits fitted -
* De-cat down pipe (great sound now I have the whole system)
* White dial kit (no performance gain but it make the dash look SO much better)
* Speed delimiter (now I can see more than 110mph on the clocks)
* Helix clutch (it doesn't slip, pedal feels much better)
* Flywheel skimmed (done on the day to a very high standard)

Thanks again, can't wait till there is fuel to burn !!!!

 

How are you getting on with the helix clutch? is it a paddle?

It's not a paddle, I spoke to Pete about one but he says it will die in about 10,000 miles with road use.
It is much better than the last one, but that was worn out.
The clutch is much lighter to press and the biting point more defined, won't know about power handling for a while till I get some more fuel.

 

I know someone that ran a helix paddle for 40,000m in a different type of car although when it came out it didnt really resemble a clutch.

Just a thought, if you have de-catted does that mean you can run alternative fuels such as LRP, 4 star, etc, etc.

Sorry I am not very bright and would appreciate an answer. If you can run alternatives I can see me hiring a welding kit and cutting the cat from my company car. Well, its not mine is it.

 

I understand that the lambda sensor can become contaminated with lead and cause problems - see:

 

The subject is still open but I won't risk it.
You can get a new Lambda sensor which will cope with the LRP fuel but this is expensive.

 

The clutch has now bedded in and feels much better. The power delivery is far better than before.
The exhaust sound SO MUCH BETTER !!!
