I'd love an escort cossie and will probably get one one day as a second car irrrespective of the image, I just love the looks. I think there is one big difference between escort cossies and early 90s imprezas which means the drivers are unlikely to be chavs, as the cost difference is circa 10k. You are lucky that the escort cant be infiltrated by the lowest elements of society which seems to have happened with the scoob.

Not too keen on the sierra, just dont like the looks.

5/6 years ago the sierra seemed to attract meetheads but personally don't pay much attention to the drivers as you dont see too many of the cars around.

Escort Cosworth's to me are one on the coolest car's ever made. When you see one, they still look awsome. A car I was always too young to buy new. Prefer new car's hence why I've never bought 2nd hand Cossy. Thought about it a few times but too many horror stories of bad ones put me off.
Came up behind one that had been to the RS day at Croft a few weeks back. Has far more road present than a scoob.
I love Cossies................. Come on Ford, build another......... please.

I'm a firm believer that the driver makes a car Chav. I owned Cossies in the 90's and still look on them with affection. Similar to the Scoob they're an affordable performance car.

I think cossie owners must have a lot of time money and patience as the cars are getting on now. I suppose the same will be said about imprezas in years to come. The cars and owners arent too disimilar.

Imo.

I hope I look at a scooby in 15 years time and still think its a cool car like I do with any Cosworth, Even when I see a 3dr Sierra Cosworth it still has a kind off dont fu6k with me look to it.

Cossies are amazing cars but you have to have patience to look after them as the pinto technology is knocking on a bit.

I love escort cosworths. I was tempted into buying one before i got the scoob but the only thing that stopped me was the age of one. Maybe one day i will get one as a second car

Excuse me if I am wrong, but didn't the Cossie's have cosworth engines, or was that just the twim cam / 4 valve heads and turbos ?? Pintos were the old fashioned RS2000's ...

I am not a ford owner since my xr3 was nicked ... sorry!

When you say this are you refering to a chav as a "young" driver? Im fairly young and people take the **** because I wanted a scoob. Does that make me chav? Never really understood that

I too would love an escort cossie, and probably a few years ago if I could afford one I would. My mate had a nice sierra cos and that was gorgeous too. Long live the Cossie !!

The engine is Pinto based, with a twin cam 16-valve head and strangthened pistons, crank, conrods etc.

As you can see, Impreza owners have to deal with a lot of **** but we dont tend to give it..... Now if you asked most groups of enthusuasts what they thought of Scooby owners the posts would run to 50 pages of vitriol.....

I love Cosworths and know a few people who own them. I think that you have to look at them for what they are, a very fast car that can be tuned for next to nothing. I'd have one, wouldn't get rid of the scoob though

It was a choice between a escort cossie or getting my scoob, it would have been the cossie if i could have found one that wasnt fcuked.

I used to walk about a mile on my lunch break to look at them in Fords when they where brand new £24500 was the asking price.

Its true they have such an amazing presence on the road, and when i see the Escort cossworth badge it still gives me a buzz.

I want one again now

I've always loved cossies. I reckon the majority of owners with fast cars have a lot of respect for other models of fast cars. I dont understand why people slag off other models and their owners

Its people like this that are the chavs, though there's nothing wrong with light hearted banter

Not unless you drive it like its stolen. I'm referring to the drivers who do donuts at events where theres children about or who go round estates at speed.....Age doesn't enter into it.

Theres nothing wrong with cossies, or the majority of their drivers. As with all performance cars, thay are bound to attract the odd d#cks.
I would have to add an RS500 to my wish list.

THEY'RE ALL *******!!!!

No just kidding,

I love Cossie's. I was looking out for an Escort before buying my STi....

I reckon at the time if I could have found a decent one with Air Con I would have had it.

There's nothing worse than Brand Snobbery. I love all Performance cars.
