Question E (euro) marked parts & the law

Do all new parts fitted to a car have to be E marked by law; if not can the vehicle still pass the MOT?

I have ordered silver bulbs that indicate orange, can I use them legally on the road if they are not E Marked, if so can I use them abroad?

Who's going to check them???

Seriously:

I've been running with non E approved headlamp bulbs in cars for 7 years and nobody is the wiser.

MOT states that the indicatosr only need to show orange only when illuminated (thus why clear lenses are allowed)
