Default intercooler version

hello, i got me 1998 uk classic 3 months agoo not realizing it had a bodge job intercooler, although it was bigger than the standard unit it was just crap. Pressure tested it to find it was leaking everywhere and it dident have enough brackets to keep it sweet.
I have been talking to the local Subaru specialist and he says it would be best to get an sti one and modify the brackets or fabracate new ones, tho their would be problems with clearence of the dump valve on the classic98 turbo.

Reading some of the information on here it seems I can save meself a lot of trouble getting the easiest to fit version sti intercooler right of the batt to fitt my98 uk classic.
Any suggestions of what would be the easiest to fit version? i presume quite a few people have done this before, your input/suggestion would be very appreciated.
Thanks, Paul.

I used to have a 98my uk turbo and fitted
the sti intercooler off the 22b. it will fit straight on with no problems

If you want the standard one i will sell it for £35

I can probably get hold of a 22b one for you but they are about £500

A standard sti 4 intercooler (my98) will usually go for around 200 squid on ebay. These are the same as the 22b intercooler.
