Default Special Edition 300 Run Out Model ???

Had cause to visit my local Dealer today only to find 2 identical WRX "300"
Special editions.

Red Calipers, Gold Wheels, Aircon and swanky seats with "Subaru" embroidered into them.

Very smart but unless anyone knows different I think Mechanically standard.

Anyone any other info??

I presume this is to help shift the outgoing model !?

P.s went on Subaru UK web site but when I clicked on "More Info" nothing happened !

From the email I received from Monks Heath awhile back:

I am pleased to announce the availability of the new limited edition Impreza WRX300.
In essence the WRX300 includes the following additional standard features to the WRX:

PRODRIVE PERFORMANCE PACK
RAC TRACKSTAR WITH 1 YEAR'S FREE MEMBERSHIP
GOLD 17" ALLOY WHEELS
INDIVIDUAL ALUMINIUM EFFECT GEAR **** LEVER
SUBARU WORLD RALLY TEAM BRANDING ON THE FRONT SEATS
SUBARU WORLD RALLY TEAM BRANDING ON THE LAMP COVERS
WRX300 BRANDED FLOOR MATS
WRX300 EXTERNAL BADGING TO THE REAR AND SIDES

As the name suggests, there will only be 300 units available for sale.

The On the Road Price is £21495.00

Basically. It's a WRX with bolt on bits and an ECU upgrade.

When I first heard about it, I thought we were getting a 300bhp model and when I got the spec sheet it said 263 bhp - The 300 was the number of units.

Hi Roblad

took delivery of one of these 4 weeks ago. yes i think you are right - special edition to shift stock. the thing for me was the free PPP and the styling of the car which covered the foglights. each dealership was given an average of 3 each to sell. i called at the dealership today and they had sold the last one from the showroom. as the PPP comes as a standard spec of the car along with the trackstar Plus, the insurance was much cheaper than a standard WRX. i got a great trade in deal compared to the audi tt i looked at. am well happy with the car.

some pics...

just wish i'd bought a scoob sooner!

best wishes

andy

Many Thanks for the pics, glad you are happy with the car (very tempted myself).

The add ons are not in your face but subtle which I like.
Long story short - went in to get a new battery for my MY00 Turbo.
If I had a bit more spare wonga I would probably have ended up chewing the salesman's ear off

Glad you like your scooby. I have always come back to them, kind of something gets under your skin !

Cheers

Roblad.

Or buy a 2nd hand '04 wrx ppp with a couple of years warranty left and save thousands of quids.

yea i should think so but you will have to pay. they are a bit camp like. im tempted by this model too, would prefer it with anthracites. still a bit pricey for me. maybe after christmas and get a used one.

Agree, but pretty much uninsurable for younger drivers!

I think some on here have noted that the WRX300 seems to generate much lower quotes than WRX + PPP (sometimes less than a standard WRX) in a similar way to which the WR1 is generally cheaper to insure than the STI + PPP.

C2forWRX - Mine might be going soon if I have to give into the missus' demands that I make her an honest woman after all several years of being engaged, and I cant afford both. Unfortunately what she wants, she usually gets.

hi pete

couldn't agree more about the wheels. they come as standard - would have to keep the gay golds and buy some additional decent alloys. i checked with my insurance and they said it would mean the car has been modified and incur an additional premium - so it's gay golds for the time being.

best wishes

Nice looking car - especially with fog light covers. The PPP is a good "cheap extra" to include as standard too.

I just wish FHI would think of other colours for the special editions - blue with gold wheels isn't exactly distinctive any more! The RB5/STi cool grey colour still stands out (IMHO), so why can't they do another "rare" colour?

Paid £20750, and got excellent trade ins (2 cars) which were probably £1000 above what I expected, so all in all call it £2k off list.

I'm facing the daily misery now of knowing that sooner or later I'm going to have to start paying for photographers, dresses, deposits for function rooms. I dont think I can cope with it all, she'll have to go!

FFS we've been together for 6 years and been engaged for 2, why does she only mention the W word when I buy a scoob.

She's having a fooking larf - but, I suppose it could be worse, she could be pregnant.

If it was my money I would personally wait until the new model comes out.

From personal experience, buying an Impreza shortly before the new model appears is a good way of loosing a lot of money.

I thought that tbh, and in some ways I still do advocate seeing what happens with the new model. However it is only a facelift rather than a new model. I honestly think that with the deals around at the moment, especially with £1600 worth of PPP thrown in, is well worth a good haggle with the dealer.
