1997 Legacy should have a chip key imobliser system fitted. The key can be cut from the one you have and programed in at any dealer using select monitor, however all keys must be present, and any that are not, ie lost ones are knocked out.

You should however get the key number from IM or your dealer, as you will need it to get a key if you lose both.

Cost £53.10 + vat for genuine Subaru key.
£30.00 + VAT for curtis key.
Labour (varies) £30.00 + VAT for key from blank, £50.00 + VAT for key from number. (Ie cut and program)
