But these are ancient and not complete.
I've used all sorts from various places pocketgps, checkpoint etc, but I found I was still adding ones not on these files. Like the one at the end of the M32 in Bristol.
I used the excel spreadsheet that was sent from Shell C/S to the originator of the SIDC thread.

I'd got to page 9 of 25 of the spreadsheet printout typing them into TTGo via postcode / address

You'll also find POIs there for all the UK's franchised Subaru dealerships, many of the independent Subaru parts suppliers and specialists, and the Tesco garages that are doing 99 RON unleaded

Robocop

Thanks Kevin for the ov2 Data Base

All installed and working OK, noticed the one near me at Peartree is on the roundabout, but is shown on a BP location half a mile up the road.
the Excel spread sheet reads.
A34 Peartree Hill Roundabout Woodstock Road Oxford Oxfordshire OX2 8JZ

Checked the Shell data base
http://www.shell.com/home/uk-en/html...on_finder.html

Post Code was OX2 8JZ
Woodstock Road and marks it spot on, not as the location in the ov2 data base

Checked the BP data base
http://subsites.bp.com/ultimate/uk/location/default.asp
The BP garage is at OX2 8LA
A40 Woodstock Road,
OXFORD
Oxfordshire

So in conclusion the Excel data base is correct the Shell web site is correct, but the ov2 is putting it at or near the BP site up the road

Any ideas??

As I stated in my post, it's based on postcodes, so can by a bit out, as a postcode can serve I think 15 address.
I have to import them in one format and then convert them into ov2 (TomTom) format. Some info will be lost or a bit inaccurate
The one near me is incorrect as well and also one in Swindon is out a bit, but if I was travelling half way round the country, I'd be happy to be that close.
With 985 addresses, it would take ages to reposition them all, although I've redone the two mentioned above now.

Hope this helps?

Kevin

Hi Robocop

Sorry to sound as if I was moaning, but the first one I came across was wrong.
Should be at

Latitude 51.79451
Longitude 1.28404

How do you play with the OV2, and what tools are need?

Any chance of an update release

Thanks again for your hard work M8

Ajax, Paul

If Shell could however release a list with longitude and latitude information, then we could have them "bang on".
Anyone fancy contacting Mr Shell for the info?

The way I got it was to put them up on auto route, and hover over with the location Sensor

Prolly even Shell have not got the LongLat information to hand

I guess if everyone supplied the exact position for their local site, then I could update them as and when.
Meanwhile, what version of TomTom are you using? If it's 3, I can explain how to DIY.

Maybe so, but it allows you to make a "voice file" for POI in TomTom.
Imagine what you could use for an approaching speed camera?

You can just record normal wav files via a micraphone
