When I first got my Classic a number of years ago I did the same thing. Swapped a Prodrive (P1) exhaust to MY97. I checked with KT Greens (main delare in Otley) and they said if anything did happend SHOULD be ok but they could not give me any concrete assurances.
Personally I couldn't see the problem but you just know they'd have wriggled if I'd have tried to claim for anything so I waited for the warranty (which only had five months or so to go) to expire.
Not much help there I guess...........

No it will not be void it is a genuine Subaru part and as such cannot invalidate your warranty unless it can be proven that the exhaust was fitted incorrectly and also the damage / defect described was as a direct result of the incorrect fitting.
I mean lets be honest, the only peeps who could fit an exhaust incorrectly is your Scooby dealer anyway. So as long as you dont take it to them for fitting, you'll be fine

will fit myself then - after all, its only going to be a couple of bolts + rubbers. no dobt dealers would want ££££'s for fitting anyway!
im guessing a gasket is used to seal the joints? is there any sort of sealant/jointing paste that you need to use as well? (sorry if this sounds dumb, just never fitted exhaust before)
