Do Scoobies get vandalised???
Ok, my scooby is brand new, and looks evil. But is this going to get my car scratched/dented?
How many of you have had malicious damage and how common is it in scoobies compared to other performance cars.
Im hoping that out of "respect" it might get left alone when its parked out and about., but I am a bit worried.

I've only had my 99 impreza since december but so far (touch wood), not a problem other than a little ****** nicking the badge off the front of the car, but he was caught!! Anyway, i had an escort gti before it and that got keyed, the wingmirrors got knocked off (on the pavement side of the kerb i might add) and likewise for my corsa before that! Surprisingly, i think people, even the not so intellectual members of Medway, have some sort of respect for the scoobs. Hope i don't jinx it now.......

Don't let it detract from the enjoyment of your car though. Most likely it'll not happen.

from my experience area means nothing, i have lived in basildon, not the nicest area for four years, i have parked my fto and my impreza outside and had no problems at all, also spent time in upminster parked on a driveway, lots of 400k + houses and older generation in general, had my impreza kicked all down one side, had the fog light covers nicked, had my car scratched by another car and no details left. all 'a' holes.

Respect? There are sections of society that respect nothing or no-one.
Alcohol is a real factor. I'm pretty old now, but I remember when I was seventeen and getting drunk, a mate of mine -a VERY well-brought up and gentle lad- thought it was the greatest of fun to walk up and over a brand-new TR7.

If a scoob gets vandalised I would expect the same probably would have happened whether it had been an EVO or new BMW or new Merc or any other nice car parked there.
As NSO4 says, take a bit of care where you park your motor and be a bit alert of your surroundings, as you would any other nice car, but enjoy it...not worth having one if you never drive it anywhere.

i used to run the huntsman and hounds in upminster and spend time at the railway in hornchurch, left there in feb and living in basildon at the mo, but looking for another pub around that area.
which car was yours, probably see you at the next meet.

I always travel with my doors locked and I am always wary if I think a car has been following me for a while. If I'm in doubt, a quick spin soon gets rid of them.
In this day and age you just have to be sensible about where and when you leave your car but why should you let lifes low life stop you having something you want.

I live just outside Birmingham, and Ive had my headlights stolen 3 times from my MY00 classic, and decided to sell it after that, got the new shape scooby and theres no chance of anybody taken the lights out of it, I dont think its just scoobs its any car that looks like the owner takes pride and joy in there car, My brother had a flip painted Vauxhall corsa and someone keyed it and wrote there names all over it which is upsetting as he paid £2,000 for the paint.

I park mine outside the bedroom window, under a streetlight, but first i had the metal caps nicked, and now i've replaced them with lockable valve caps, they went right down the side with a key last night. Its deep too, so not sure what to do. I've never done anything to hurt anyone round here, and it makes me sick to think that some b****rd can just wreck someone's pride and joy for no reason! Worse bit is, i've no way of finding out who did it, so it might happen again, especially if i try to sort the scratches out. I am SO gutted, only had my Scoob 2 months.
