Needs to be GC8C4ED. But this is the code for the STI and the STI 555 (they are the same. We know its an STI (dials, seats, I/C spray, red top etc) and the roof vent and colour indicate towards 555. See you later today

I dont think the STI lights came out until the Version 3. I haven't seen any version 2s with them as standard.

Get the model code, transmission code and engine code of the VIN plate and we'll be able to tell you exactly what it is.

The radio ariel looks like it's in a weird non-standard place though....

Going on that model code, and that it's painted the special 555 colour and has a roof vent. It's a WRX STi2 555 4 door Special edition (275PS).

Very nice

Have a look at http://www.catherineandken.co.uk/sti You will find more
details on the 555 edition there.

No Diff control on STi II - 555 editions.

Yep mine has center diff control

Impreza sti v2 v-limited ra special edition

1996

Weird thing is the red top engine only came out oct 1996
so a 1995 shouldn't have red top but will have fifth injector.
Water spray etc
No electric goodies like power windows or elec mirrors etc

The STI lights did not appear until MY97, so they lights are original
Looks like a STI 2 Limited which had a red top engine and STI on the seats
STI V-Limited should have Silver top engine with fifth inj, DCCD and McRae sig on the drivers seat and Ringers sig on the pax seat

Some confusion on this thread, but basically there's an STi 555 & an STi RA 555 ...easiest visual way to tell them apart are RA version's come with Mcrae Seats & DCCD & no side skirts

Another misconception

They were never called 555 cars, this was given to the range by the Jap media. They were called according to the sales brochure for the model release

WRX V-Limited......1000 made....500 white/500 blue......FIA badge on seats and boot

WRX STI Limited....1000 made...all blue.....roof vent and red top engine

WRX STI Limited Wagon....500 made ...all blue.......red top engine

WRX STI RA V-Limited.......555 made ...all blue.......FIA badge on boot RA engine, dccd, roof vent and sigs on seats

I own a modified STI 2 Limited and the gf owns a STI RA V-Limited

Only special edition to be called 555 was the yellow Type R of 97

I knew the 555 was a 'nickname' for ltd edition ...but thought it was because both of them came with the factory fit option of 555 decals?

The decals were a dealer option not a factory one. Factory options were Quick rack, Elec windows, Air con, Rear wash wipe and even a plated front diff, thats why the specs vary so much on the the RA versions.

More than likely the rallyrep decals is where the 555 nickname came from for these Version 2 cars

The version 2 cars were sold/branded as 555 limited editions. There is a copy of my Jap sales leaflet here :- http://www.subaru-impreza.org/downloads/1995-sti.pdf

You'll also notice the "red top" manifold in the pictures as well.

No one is disputing the red top manifold in a version 2 STI, it was not in the version 2 STI RA V-Limited

The brochure i have is very similer in layout but only features the Limited range of cars from the WRX to the V-Limited.....McRae is sitting on the bonnet of the RA V-Limited in full rally overalls.

I will try and scan it in, if not i will bring it to Alford this year and you can borrow it to scan in, similer fashion to what you have done with that brochure

My Brochures came from a source in Japan, also have the original price lists and option lists on A4 photocopied sheet just as the dealers handed out.

How hires do you want, the pdf I created is over 7 Mb ?

Is it a white RA with a rally support truck in the background ? If so I have the dealer Video CD that was shown in the showrooms at the same time as the cars were available.

The STi ver2 limited edition is indeed officially branded as 555.

But the STi ver2 type Ra V-limited (I've got one) is not, it did have a production of 555 units.
People call the colour (wrongly) 555 blue or McRae blue, it is actually 'sports blue'.
