Removing old baked on stickers

Removing old baked on stickers
Bit of an odd one, but I have an ugly little japanese garage sticker on the back of my wrx and I want to remove it. It is well and truly hardened on over the years. With a very blunt blade I can chip away at it and it comes off in small flakes, but this does score the paint work a little underneath. Anyone any ideas. I was thinking do I try wiping it with petrol...will that soften it or just ingress on the surrounding paintwork.

You can try one of these
1) boil the kettle pour boiling water over sticker then try and pick away at it with your finger nail.
or
2) You could use a hair dryer and then pick away at it with youe finger nail's
Assuming that the sticker is a plastic one.I hope these ideas will be of some help
