bike carrier OK on std. Forester roof rack?

I have a 2000 Forester and would like to mount 2 Rocky Mount Noose bike carriers to the existing standard roof rack crossbars. Is this safe, or should I buy aftermarket crossbars from Yakima or Thule? Thanks.
