We probably all now know that in March 2001 the road tax regime is changing to tax the polluter and go by CO2 output of your new vehicle (registered on March 1st onwards)+ a bit if it is a diesel etc.It will also allow cars under 1200cc to creep into the lower £100 bracket.
My question is what is it that is happening in 2002. There are hints in Toyota Avensis adverts that road tax in 2002 is going to get pretty big but what is happening then to existing cars and new cars?
I am only asking cause I am in the process of buying a small car for doing the school run etc and as I will be keeping it for a bit the road tax question may sway my decision.
Any help much appreciated
Greg
