Default new owner question

Have just obtained my first new euro WRX I have noticed that there is no grill in front of the radiator which is visible below the number plate is this normal?

Yes.

Can't quite understand the logic myself - the grill is to protect the radiator while still allowing a good flow of air isn't it.

My best explaination is that al objects that might hit the radiator are subject to gravity at the time, and therefore the lower grill isn't needed unless you are tailgating like an idiot and the stones are still going up when they hit. In which case you deserve it!

Yes it's normal. You can get the Prodrive grille set, however I think they don't look too good. Especially given the price ~£200 is it..!!! If you're worried about it (bearing in mind it's the very expensive A/C exchanger not the radiator), you could buy some black mesh from B&Q and fit it inside the aperture quite easilly. Myself I've just left it as std. Maybe temting fate..!
