almost in an accident on way home from work
i was driving down the road in MY05 sti sitting at 30mph and a bloody bus pulls right out from the bus stop in front of me, it was either crunch or kerb so i went for kerb at thirty miles an hour, has dug out a bit of the front drivers alloy wheel,we both stopped at the light and i got out the car to inspect the damage, then the lights were going to green so i quickly stepped out in front of the bus and stood there until i had written down the reg number and route number.
does anybody know any good wheel refurb places in around west london...
ok ive had my moan and im off now,,,see ya

Good old London bus "drivers". Possibly the most dangerous people (possibly excluding motorbike couriers & BMW X5 drivers) on the road.
Most of 'em seem to have obtained their PCV by collecting 10 tokens off the back of a cereal packet. Get onto the company and make the *******s pay!

I had this happen to me, and I was riding a push bike, thats when it gets really scary.
Bus drivers have never heard of mirrors or indicators, they just own the road or at least they think they do. Stevie Wonder would do a better job than some.

I took a sizeable chunk of alloy from my wheel after skidding on black ice about 100 yds from home and I was going slower than 30mph. Rather than having your wheel repaired which is not cheap, see if your local Subaru dealer has any "second hand" wheels. The dealer will usually swap wheels on a brand new motor for a different type if the customer requests it. The wheel has not been used but cannot be sold as new since it has previously been fitted. I took this option and virtually got a brand new wheel for half the original price. Best to get the tracking and the track rod ends inspected too as its surprising what damage can occur at that speed.

Or, if it's of interest, I'll have a gold alloy off my MY03 STi for sale in a month or so (4 actually) - ideal for anyone who has dinged one of theirs, or who wants a full-size spare. PM me if it's any use.

busses
Hmm new forum room required for near misses with buses stories.
Nearly broadsided one last week as it pulled out in front of me whilst i was accelerating onto motorway slip road! Good old Kings Ferry uses!
I can tell you adrenalin is BROWN and a bit smelly...
You should ave seen the faces of ppl on the bloody thing though i laugh about it now but i swear they went paler than i did as my black sti dissappeared from view under their window (stopped about a foot short i hasten to add), bloomin good the brakes on these things aint they!!
Anyways went round him on slip road and stayed about level with cab flikkin the bird and not letting him on A2, takes a look in rear view mirror and its full of blue lights, 'bye ecky thump oops' thinks i as plod flies past and dont look back, so give the bus bloke some more verbal and see he's gettin it from the passengers too!! Take that home pillock!, hurrah for scooby drivers and definately report that twonk who forced you to **** your alloy.
After all the highway code actually says summit like please allow buses right of way blah blah blah...
...but plod says (with regards to dangerous driving) any driver who manoevres causing another driver to change COURSE, SPEED OR DIRECTION (all which apply here me thinks) has ballsed up their manoevre and should rightly say sorry as they are stupid... or words to that effect. All the best, hope suspension etc. are all cool pls get em checked dont want to lose it doin warp 4 now...

thrust you need to see a doctor, i think you have a problem building up here about other peoples spelling or is it your just sad with no friends
Would I be right in thinking the reason that this chap bought an M5 was that he could spell it more easily? It's "Impreza", FHS!

its gonna cost 45 to get the wheel refurbed, possible get all of them done in anthracite,do you think they would look good in that colour http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/showthread.php?t=421412
i am 25 and my insurance is 2100 as it is, dont wanna risk anythin with them dealing with my insurers and end up paying more next year, think i will just give them a wide berth next time round..

No need for me to see a doctor, but the Campaign for Scoobynet Literacy will go on! And those who can't be bothered will continue to be named-and-shamed.

I'd much rather you put your efforts into being respectful to other road users than into your spelling, punctuation and grammar on Scoobynet! After all, if it's that hard, those three-thousand-odd postings would have left you exhausted
