Question maf sensor?

Can someone please explaine, what a m/s is and how do you know if it's ok.

i maywell be wrong on theis but i think it monitors airflow in to the engine to help put the right amont of fuel in. I do know its only a small piece of kit that sitson the pipe exiting the air box costs about £300+ to replace - but costs a LOT more if it goes wrong!

Your right there pippy

Had to have mine replaced recently as it failed and caused erratic idle issues and running quite rich.

Cost £280+ to replace but the new models i.e. my99> are cheaper as you only need the sensor which is about £70 and not the housing unit aswell.

Do a search on MAF and you will find alot of threads.

For MY99 the MAF element costs £78, here's my old one sitting in front of the box the new one came in (with the part number).
