ESX California Edition STi
Hey all,
We just posted a preview of the first US-based special edition Subaru STi. This article originally appeared in Subiesport, the North American Subaru magazine. Sure, the ESX may not match up against the UK's own Litchfield Type-25, but hey, it's a start
Here's a clip:
...
What you’re looking at is yet another hot STi you won’t be able to buy in the States. Not yet at least. “But isn’t that the ‘California Edition’ from Easy Street Performance, based in North Hollywood?” you may ask. Yes, yes it is. Very good. But you still can’t have one.
The reason it’s unlikely you’ll get your hands on this particular piece of automotive history isn’t because of harsh import laws. No, it’s because even at the asking price of somewhere around 50-large this hand-built and numbered, limited run of 40 top-end Subaru WRX STi’s with the garish double white stripes are most likely to already be sold out by the time you read this.

I'm curious on the opinion of this car over in the UK...too little for too much cash? Or too hot for words? Using today's conversion scale it would run about £27,531.92

What part of the UK are you in? That would be primo to include in our upcoming issue--featuring women owners and their rides. If you're interested, PM me...we're getting close to deadline, but if you're near my UK contact, we may be able to squeeze something in!
Cheers,

Unfortunately the US-UK conversion for car prices is $US1 = £GB1 so this would be £45-50k
I remember when the MX-5 first came out, being excited by the $US price of ~$12k IIRC which was about £8k. Price on UK release was £12k of course

I suppose you could just as well pick up an RS6 for that much silver.
