That happened to my uncle - he used to rally a Chevette with RS2000 engine in the local road rallies at night around Gisburn Forest etc. Lost it on some ice, through a stone wall and rolled down a bank into a river upside down. Not a nice sensation apparrently

Harnesses are difiicult to get out of normally, imagine being underwater???
