Motosave - Meguiars Gold Class Carnuba Wax £11.99 IIRC
Hard to find, even harder to apply but the hardest wax once on - Simoniz Original Carnuba £5
Swissoll - for the insanely stupid and rich

Zymol wax is very good. Along with the Zymol car shampoo it makes the car look fantastic.

Can get both from Halfrauds. £11.99 for the wax and I think about £6 for the shampoo.

Cheers,

Rich

PS21 from www.seriousperformance.co.uk combined with meguiars 3 stage cleaner and wax
Simoniz original now available from most car retails, bought some at the weekend tried to apply it and spent the next two hours trying to get it off !
Whats the best method of applying it ?

Cheers

Richard

Everything you ever needed to know about detailing your car. I ordered a few things from him the Klassee is very good and the service was prompt and efficient. If you are going to order from him if you download the app and register it there is a voucher in it for 10% off your order.

Thanks for suggesting myself guys !

As you may or may not know SWISSOL has won the last two test in magazines ie Max Power & Classic & Sports Car

These tests are based on the quality of the product, ease of use & VALUE FOR MONEY (despite what people on here would like you to believe)

As you can see those two tests cover both ends of the car spectrum & prove that the Swissol product is excellent value for money & excellent quality

I am more that willing to discuss the products with anyone either call me or mail me your number & I will call you !

I wont expect you to buy anything for me & will be more than happy to give you advice which you can use with which ever brand of products you buy !

Thanks

Paul

how much is swissol?

because the clearcote stuff was cheap and did everything it said on the can, came off with ease and no powder stuff.

first and last wax I'll ever use.

Swissol is about £100 for a Subaru kit IIRC. It's expensive to buy upfront, but the value for money must be based on how long it lasts.

Paul,

Do you have any of the Wax Wizards MC2 in stock?

IIRC the starter pack is about the £100 mark (Paul correct me i'm wrong)
but for me the ease of use and the finish + it lasts and lasts wins it for me
Yes it is expensive to begin with but i've been using mine for about 3 years and still have only used about half of the wax (may need some more cleanse soon though)

Ozzy - just get the Virosol from here http://www.jantastic.co.uk/acatalog/...roducts_6.html

Its the same stuff as MC2 (I believe it was proved by a chemist!) I used to think the sun shone from Underwoods Ar$e when it came to MC2 till I found this out! They also have some polish called "swift" on there which Underwood sold me to clean the interior! HMMMMMMm

I used to use Swissol stuff too (and swore by it).
Recently tried some of the poorboys cleaner (and P21s wax) from www.seriousperformance.co.uk - and Iv'e gotta be honest and say that I think the poorboys/P21s brings my car up better (Sonic Blue Type R) than the swissol did (shield wax)

Tony Flow are you sure you were using the Swissol correctly ?

I am more than happy to have a chat with you if you want to discuss Swissol as I have never had a client find a better product !

Fulham, was shown how to use it by Mark Underwood.

The P21s combination seems to bring out a darker sheen of colour - whereas the shield wax brought a highly reflective surface out - I prefer the darker "sheen". Perhaps shield wax was not the best type for my motor!

Swissol stuff was great - but as said, I like the deeper "sheen" the P21s brings out.

Dunno if the colour of the car makes a difference - as the mica red car above looks great (nice deep sheen)

I hope you mean sonic blue and not rally blue, totally different colours!

Must admit I just went with what alex from serious performance said. I trust him not to screw me over and he has always had the cleanest cars of anyone I know.

I was loathed to wax a car before as it seemed like so much effort, but I can't believe just how easily this stuff came off and the resultant shine it left in the bodywork. Can't compare it to swissol as I haven't used it but can say this stuff was incredible value for money and will also last me ages.

Not sure what you meant by this ? I use Swissol on many Rally blue cars ! I havent prepared one in sonic blue in ages so cant comment on that colour exaclty ! but the colours are similar !

I hope that you arent suggesting that I would "screw" anyone over ?! I havent ever done that & if you ask my many clients I advise them on ways to save money & never persuade them to buy anything from me ! I give free advice with no obligation to buy anything ! Many of the tips I pass on can be used with any products you decide to use !

perhaps I applied it wrong then (followed instructions in swissol handbook though) - Like I say though - great product, just I found something *I* prefer.

Perhaps I wasn't using the swissol cleaner fluid properly?

Using Swissol - I got this :

Using Poorboys/P21s I got:

Swissol Concourse = about 135 quid for a pot. It does have a really deep gloss but is very finicky in terms of ambient temperature, too cold and it tends to get 'lumpy' and is very difficult to apply to car.

I switched to P21S ($30 dollars) and found this stuff to be simply: amazing; seems to be made from a lot softer compound than the Swissol Concourso. This stuff goes on like grease (using the applicator pad provided within the pot) and is very ambient temperature friendly though in sunlight it does tend haze over very quickly. Also, unlike Swissol in that you are recommended to let it haze over for 5-10 mins (making it slightly more difficult to take off) you can remove P21S as soon as you have covered the body panel.

In both instances, once applied get it in the sun or some UVA lamps and you will notice that the shine noticable deepens after about 2-3 hours. Once this has occurred get an extremely soft buffetting pad (eg wool) and give it a quick once over - this gives you the trademark wet look you see in car shows. Hmm, for a slightly more wet look buff it with some distilled water or get some detailing spray.

Finally, out the two Swissol lasts longer (P21S about 2-3 weeks, Swissol about 6) but I tend to polish the car every 1-2 weeks anyway.

Have fun
