Question Flash Car Wash System.....Can it be any good ?

I'm sure some of you have seen the ad on TV for the 'Flash' car wash system where he washes the car with the hose ,sponges it down , and rinses it off with 'deionised' water so no streakes . Has anyone used it ? surely it can't be as good as the good old chamois leather .

Never buy that sort of stuff. Always think that some exec will say how can we get rid of the extra production of a Million litres of multi-clean. I know lets call it car wash

Just my suspicious mind.

I have got one, DONT buy one, there ****!

the two times I have used it, it has reacted with the wax on the car and swirled, so, you then have to re wax the whole car to get it nice and again.

I think it has something to do with the detergent based cleaner you put in it? my wax (swissol) didnt like it at all!

I have a system here with extra large packs that I bought, you can have for £20 if you want it? the anti streak thing actually works (which I think was your original question?)

Doesn't sound good! I use Swissol as well so I don't suppose I will be buying the Flash stuff.

Shame coz the adverts on telly make it look great!

I have used it a few times now on a black metalic car (so pretty hard to get spotless results)..................its superb.

You simply wash the car, rinse it as you go (as normal) then spend a couple of mins rinsing it via the filter...............10 mins later the car is spotless.

I gave it a polish/wax after the first time and it certainly doesnt need doing again (4 weeks ago)........in the summer i may polish it once a month to deal with stubborn bits but other than that its just a 20 mins a week job.

11/10

T

I also do the windows with it........no matter how carefull i am i normally get drips and streaks on them from water running of the frame of the window after i have dryed the glass................with the flash thing you dont dry anything...it all dries spottless!

I'd give this a thumbs up as well,it's not a totally perfect finish but you have to look pretty hard to see any streaks, did give a better finish on the wife's red celica, but to be honest both cars looked like they had a coating of clear glass over them

AIUI it uses a filter to remove impurities from the water and rinse aid to break the surface tension and give a streak free finish. You can't de-ionise water with a filter.

Any product endorsed by the WRC can't be all bad? Also featured on Channel 4 website.

I have used it and it worked. The water just evaporates and leaves it spot free. It says that it doesnt remove wax polish in the faq sheet provided

Deionised water is a good idea As it will not leave streaks !

I have customers who have taken their car cleaning to an extreme & installed a deionsied water supply to hose the car off & it works !

However I doubt that the car bath they use will be PH neutral ! IF it isnt then all the work you have done waxing the car will be wasted as it will be stripped off the car !

As with everything You need to really use the manufacturers products in harmony to get the best results !

Ie as far as Swissol is concerned PH neutral car bath, cleaner fluid & wax all from Swissol if you want the best results !

Sod the best results i just want the car looking clean and the flash thing does the job
More important things to do than spend all day cleaning the car

As a rule of thumb......if the Flash thing isnt good enough..........you need more hobbies not better wax!

I too have used it and think it's the dog's danglies.

If you are worried about the Flash cleaner then put in your own shampoo and use the filtered water which does what it says on the tin.

Very impressed!

I've used it three times now, and each time the water simply disappeared without leaving drops or marks. I think the key is to use the final rinse stage like a paint spray - get quite close and make sure any residual hard water is fully rinsed off by the deionised water, working side to side and top to bottom.

On glass with tints the water marks would normally be terrible, but now the glass simply dries clear and clean. So a thumbs up from me.
