I've never hit 30mpg in my 05 WRX (non-STi), not even motorway journeys. I reckon you'll be very lucky to get anywhere near 300 miles per tank.

260 miles a tank on the motorway being gentle, and £45 a tank.

£70 petrol then

I've got a MY03 STi and managed 30mpg on a run from Essex to the Lake District last summer.

Took it easy all the way averaging about 70mph. Did 265 miles and still had 1/4 of a tank remaining when I filled-up near Preston. Got about 29mpg on the return journey (a bit quicker this time). Was really impressed.

Just lay-off the turbo and take it easy!

There was an 05 STI PPP at Elvington yesterday. 32 miles on half a tank!

But the temptation is too much for some
