1999 Turbo 2000 with PPP - Buying Advice Needed
Am off to look at a UK Turbo 2000 with PPP later today supposedly in perfect condition. Can anyone give me some advice on what to look for to check it isn't a crap-mobile?

Check the service history, it the guy has a book with all the receipts in then thats one step in the right direction.
Look for kerbing on all the alloys, this can point to damage to suspention parts or geometry out of alignment.
Check the tyres for the above.
See how they drive it, if its thrashed from the first second when cold, shows you how its been driven all its life.
Check for oil leaks under the sump, smoke from the turbo (blue is oil, white is the turbo on the way out if the car is warmed up, steam is just that, water evaporating).
Make sure the car pulls in all gears and that there are no funny noises or unusual stiffness in the gearbox, also check the clutch to make sure its not slipping, you want to see how much bite is left in it also.
Check the levels, gearbox and oil, water sould have no hydrocarbons in there (looks like an oil film) also check the oil filler cap for white deposites.
These are just basic checks, www.autotrader.co.uk may have a checklist as they do in their magazine, but you really want to take it to a subaru garage/speciallist to get a 100% check over.
