Default MPG Question

I was recently promoted at work which entitled me to monthly car allowance and a fuel card.

There are some conditions around the fuel card, one of which is your vehicle must return at least 20mpg. I didnt think this would be a problem but now I have started checking this and it seems I am only getting 17-18mpg out of my STi8 (non PPP). approx 240-250 miles per tank or 51ltrs

I am using 3.785 to convert ltrs to gallons, is this correct? or am I thick!

How many mpg are you getting and how have you calculated this.

Thanks for your help.

3.785 is for US gallons
4.546 for UK gallons

PS. I only get about 17mpg from MY02STI PPP

So I am thick then!! I was using the wrong conversion rate.

I felt sure I must be better than 18mpg. Fuel card now safe

Thanks

30mpg !!!!!! How do you manage that ? Did you actually use the turbo ;o)

I have MY02 WRX STi Type UK (non-ppp) , and get:

Best = 22.4 mpg (long steady motorway runs)
Worst = 17.2 mpg (commuting)
Average = 19.8 mpg

Same as above. I would be really happy with 25mpg but get no where near that.

I get a whopping 18mpg, just can not get better than that.

I try to not turbo, but I can not resist!

easy..........

fill your tank, boot the car away from your home for about 150 miles.....

call the AA when you run out of fuel and have them stick the car on the back of a low loader to take you home again

It was a run from Essex up to the Lake District. Steady run on the motorway with a Vauxhall Corsa tagging along, so I didn't use the turbo much!
