Andy F has the best quarter times (lots in the 10s) apart from I think one run from the Calder car which was not backed up with other runs within a close tolerance, which I gather are usually required to substantiate a 1/4 mile claim. Pavlo and the Iceland/RCMS cars are biting at Andy's heels, and all keep moving the game on. I'm getting Andy's old turbo so I think he will be planning something else at some point

Even mine does 0-60 in the high 3s in the wet (I could give you a pic, but it deliberately looks very low key like a standard old UK turbo). 100 in 7 is more tricky, Andy was mid 7s on first setup before the NOS, dogbox, high boost, sticky tyres etc, so think he will be in the 6s no trouble now.

there some amazing stats for an impreza! must be scary..I would say what do other impreza/evo's say when you pass them, but with that power some ferrari's,911's,M3's etc...should be scared! I thought mine was quick @ 4.4, but big respect to you mate

0-60 in the 3s won't make you pass someone though... it will just mean they are unlikely to catch you, it is not unknown for some imports to get near this in the dry with a good driver. 30-70 or 60-125 say are more relevant. Doing say 60-80 in about half the time of an M3 is interesting.

Re scary, not really if you are careful and respectful, main thing is not using it when other road users are nearby, as the "refresh rate" that most drivers use for vision would just not process your movements so it would be like you had come and gone out of nowhere. Some bikers are so unused to being near a wrung out car for any length of time that it is something I just won't entertain, you could easily get them to push too hard depending on their skill, road surface etc. It is quite easy to end up with a Scooby that is way too fast to be used to anything like its potential on the road even if the grip, braking etc are adequate to put the power down.

Mine is by no means the fastest, but probably amongst the fastest that does 70 miles a day.

www.geocities.com/harveysmith3000
It was/is not an out and out track car but a daily driver.
Top speed at Bruntingthorpe is 182-186 mph on 4.11 diffs currently fitted.
I will put it back on 3.9s as the new engine is developed.

nah mine wont have 550bhp anymore, I have just switched to a smaller turbo to make for a faster all round car (more area under the power curve and all that).

Should still be good for 500bhp (on optimax and NF) and more importantly 550lbft from 3000rpm and still holding nearly 400lbft at 7000 rpm. That is what makes it quick.

But you won't see mine on a drag strip as it an everyday car and isn't stripped out like andy's etc.

still has full interior, synchro gearkit, air con, sat nav, stereo, spare wheel and a heavy weight full time battery. I wonder what it could do with a good driver behind the wheel, such as andy.

If you want to look out for fast cars in the future then i would keep an eye on Pavlo.

Am fairly certain he will overtake Andy this year for the best quarter mile time, but you can't take anything away from andy's driving, including on the handling track.

In terms of sheer power, much as mine probably has the most torque (without nitrous) watch out for christians which should now be running. He made 595 proven bhp on the engine dyno and 621lbft. His is the same engine spec as mine although he went for a different manifold which cost him his air con and for the larest turbo which would be reasonable. i wasn't prepared to lose out on drivability for the sake of saying I have the most power, so am happy to make do with a less trained 500 of each and much more usable torque. I am also against the idea of nos but can see its advantage for drag racing.

car is gathering dust at the mo as I have impending exams and don't like to distract myself.

Once they are over, it will get a nice wash with some brand new products (thanks to alex creasy (ex sti 2 now r33 owner) at www.seriousperformance.co.uk).

After that will sort pics.

Am waiting for scoobysport suspension and dccd controller. Need to refit air con rad and plumbing and recharge that system. Also will be fitting graphical psi monitor configured to read direct from pectel as currently I have no boost gauge!

Checking the lap top at 2.2 bar to see if you are overboosting is a little scary and not something I want to have to do.

The snow at the moment isnt helping either, especially with 255s all round.

500bhp in a cossie can be fairly scary...... my old RS500 lost traction (RWD with 507bhp and 458 ft/lb) in 4th gear at about 100mph in a straight line, while holding full boost at 2.3bar on a T4!

I have the up most respect for these Scooby guys with similar power....... just wish I had had that power with the stability of 4WD.

I'm now back to a lowly 305bhp in my STi......... but watch this space.

Regards,
Shaun.

I made 0-104 in 7.3 seconds (might even be 7.1), but was still wheelspinning up to about 55mph at the pod on sunday.
