Unhappy Salt is bad for you-but this is ridiculus!

Took my son to Gatwick airport around the M25 and M23 from Romford on Saturday morning and by the time I got home the car was CAKED in road salt! The tailpipe had a build-up of salt which looked just like the frost that forms on the outside of a liquid oxygen pipe! I got the Karcher pressure washer on it and as much of the underside as possible but some of that stuff is lurking where it can't be seen. What's needed is a good day of rain to wash the sh** off the roads, then drive through as many puddles as possible to wash the underside. Regular motorway users cars must be in a terrible state!

I've never known it this bad before?

Mine will be washed shortly, just driving to and from work during the week gets it in a state at the moment.

Yeah, couldn't believe the amount of salt build-up!

Gave the car a good rinse with clean water when I got back last night to get the worst off, hoping to get out of work a bit early in time to give it a clean this afternoon between the snow showers!

Despite the snow on Friday, my car was spotlessly cleaned for Bedford on Saturday.
This was it this morning:

Salt eh? That might explain the silvery/grey corrosion on my square boot lock.

Had the car about three months and it looks very tired already

Will post a link tonight.
