Talking hiya-new to site

hello everyone.
new to site as i've just bought my first scooby, an old school wrx import. i absolutely love it. slight step up from a heavily modded r5 turbo i've grown out of!
bit concerned of fuel consumption tho, how much u all get to a tenner, roughly??
thanks, H

What fuel are you using and how are you driving it?

Is it possible that because the car is new you're putting your foot down a bit more and therefore using more fuel?

If you're worried about the petrol consumption you may as well sell it now

true, helen lucy ,if your driving it quite hard that sort of fuel figures not that bad unfortunatly.if not ,maybe a sensor failing,ie mass air flow.best just to have a garage carry out a diagnostics check ,just to be on safe side.should cost around £40.00 to scan. hope all goes well for you anyway ,pete.

£35 to fill it up, and getting about 160 - 180 miles ish?

presume your using optimax/super unleaded?

When first got my uk MY99 i would struggle to get 20 mpg. I then started using Super unleaded (SN advice ) and would then average 23mpg. I have since de-catted and had a remap (260bhp ish) and average 22mpg. TBH i can't see you getting any better than that withan import

Welcome to Scoobynet. I had an old school import WRX also. Fuel consumption wise I used to just fill the tank and hope I got over 100 miles.

Not that my foot was made of lead or anything........I was just enthusiastic at getting up to the speed limit.

hi.....your figures work out at about 15mpg. Not bad with a heavy right foot on an import. Make sure you use the correct fuel...very important. Optimax.
I have a modded UK and get a maximum of about 22mpg.
