Unhappy Iffy roads

A while back someone posted regarding animal fat in the grit causing him to bin his scoob. MCN ran an article (Feb 9th) and the additive is called Safecoat and basically allows the grit to stay longer on the road. This has meant that councils have added more salt on top of the existing salt making it very slippy, especially with 'Safecoat'. The MCN article had a map of which councils had used Safecoat so you could see whether your's had. Don't know if any bikers care to scan it and post?

Also I found this on SMA, another treat for us designed to reduce your braking distance to those old ones in the highway code!

As if things aren't bad enough. I wonder if you had an accident on one of these roads, could you use it in any court case?

Possibly but what you need is someone with plenty of cash to run a test case...

Thumbs down

All they do is put up 'slippery road' signs and then you have no come back Or they could reduce the speed limit to 30mph on all SMA surfaced roads

A police biker was killed in Norfolk, near the lotus factory on overbanding a few years back. They started removing it, all around local police stations and roads in the area.... That's what it takes.
