TW products are OK, but I've never been overly impressed with them. Is it a cream or a solid wax ? If it's a cream then it should shine up OK, but beading (water reticulation) will diminish within about 4 weeks and you'll need to re-apply as they're usually low in wax content and enhanced with silicon which shines but isn't hard wearing. If it's a solid wax paste (looks a bit like candle wax) then it should last a few months if it's any good. I use Simoniz Original which is about £5 a tin and is a highly concentrated Carnuba wax paste. Gives a finish like glass and lasts upto and over 6 months. I also use Maguiars Gold Class liquid for a quick do in the winter, which shines as good as Simo but again, with being a liquid only lasts a month or so.

Its the hard waxy paste. Bit of elbow grease needed then? Ive just bought lint free polishing cloths, are these suitable?

Should be OK. I normally use old t-shirts for applying and old fluffy bath towels for buffing. It will be easier to apply the good stuff if you do the car with a liquid 1st, as it will remove surface oxidisation and tarspots and leave a nice smooth surface (as will the wax paste, but it will take longer and be a bit harder). If I go the whole hog I use Maguiars Scratch X, then Gold Class liquid followed by 2 coats of Simo. Takes 8-10 hours but the shine is superb and it would last the whole year if I let it. But I'm sad so I normally do this twice a year.

Well i polished late last year with Autoglym, so waxing should be fairly straight forward. I hope!

Autoglym will do as a pre-wax polish. Just not very good on its own.

Dont use any circular motions when waxing or polishing the car or you'll get swirls.

Actually use oval motions

I'm amazed that this thread had gone for 10 posts without the mentioning of the dreaded "M" or the wallet raping "S" word

Why is it that every time Swissol is mentioned everyone says its a rip off !

It isnt as It lasts & is very easy to use !

I am sure that the guys who have tried it will never call it a rip off !

I have, went woo it's shiny. But nothing special....after you spent 2days preparing the paint to the extent it can take wax, it's shine couldn't be improved if you tried. The only thing I say is it's pretty durable. Like many other carnuba waxes.

So the only thing it does is save elbow grease so lazy people can just dump it on a matted and contaminated surface and it'll shine regardless, sealing in all the crap at the same time

I wonder if you can get Carnauba palm trees to grow in the UK...I could make a fortune!
